I took the boys on a walk organised by a local Darjeeling firm – Off Road Adventures. They arranged for us to be taken just over the border into Nepal, from where we would trek from Dodhrey up to the top of Tonglu. From there we would cross over the Indian / Nepalese border several times (without ever realising), as we descended back into Mane Bhanjang.
All told it was about 17km long, which was quite a trek for myself as well as the boys. It also set a new altitude record for myself (not counting planes) of just over 3050m high.
Unfortunately, due to the cloud cover, we were not able to get any really good views towards the greater himalayas, but it was a great experience none the less.
