Having grown up with a father who was interested in all aspects of time keeping, some of it was bound to rub off in my direction. It turns out that some of the Indian cities would each have their own set of instruments for measuring the position of the sun and the stars for telling the time, but also the seasons. Examples can be found in Delhi, Varanasi, but the most complete example can be found at Jaipur.
